Tales from the Changing Table

I have in deed cut off 2 onesies from my child's body, because there was no way I was pulling that mess over her head
.
Once while playing on the floor under the baby Einstein jungle gym mat, I noticed something one the neckline on my babies outfit.. turns out.. it was poop... and it had made it's way all the way up her back to her neck
.
There are about 7 sleepers that now have a mild yellow stain that I cannot get out, on the back at the waistline
.
Once while changer her diaper, just as soon as I opened it up.. the fountain started...I tried to cover it up.. that only diverted it up and over her legs, onto the changing pad.. thus drenching her clothes.. while trying to clean it up.. a large amount of poop made its way from previous mentioned child onto my arm, and then dripped onto changing pad
.
A few weeks ago while trying to decide if Ms. Pretty princess had a food allergy, the pediatrician asked me to bring two dirty diapers into the office to look at. Well that was the first time I had ever done that, I didn't just want to carry them in, so... I put the in a Jarod's jewelry bag..Classy!

That Day

You know the day I'm talking about, the one you think about when your 9 months preggo, and put it to the back burner because you think it will never actually come. The day where you leave your precious tiny possibly still connected with an umbilical cord baby with the nanny and close the door behind you not to return for .. O I don't know 10 hours.

well that day was today. It wasn't as bad as it thought, and I'm sure I took it harder them Em... but it had to happen sometime. Thankfully my mom watched her for the first half of the day and her father watched her in the afternoon. I did however run into a little mishap...

I went to grab lunch and figured I would pump while I was out... I was working on a military base today, and parked at the far end of the parking lot to the commissary. I never really paid much attention to the lot but there is usually cars in and out of the main lot but the end looked more like a park and ride.

I pulled up next to an RV and what looked like an abandon car. Set up my dairy farm milk machine.. courtesy of medela, and went to town. I forgot my nursing cover but just pulled my sweater around the bottle, I have VERY dark tinted windows so its not too bad.

Before I could even think about it there was a man knocking on my window, I rolled it down just a crack and he said " I would like to buy your car.. how much?".. I thought to myself Are you kidding.. here I am with my breast a bit exposed being contorted into what some have sweetly called a breast pump.. I call it the breast destroyer. The man then looked at what I was doing and turned away. I was so embarrassed. I said " I don't understand why your asking this".. he walked away pointing to a sign that said

Used Car Resale Lot
All parked cars for sale by owner
Contact information displayed in windshield
Nice... real Nice

stop..

Where did the last 6 weeks go, I mean wasn't it just yesterday I was grabbing behind my knees tucking my chin and pushing that tiny baby out... good thing you are full term at 40 weeks and not 46.. or my little 6 pounder would have most likely had to be a c-section, since she now weighs almost 10 pounds.

Fat's where it's at

.... and baby i've got some of that!

Thats right this sunday my baby will be 6WEEKS OLD... i didn't think this would ever come, but it has. Let me tell you, everyone was right once you get to 6 weeks things just start to get easier. Here's one thing thats not gettin any easier.. steppin on the scale.

I need to loose this baby weight. You know those people who have 10 pound babies, then after they get home they only have to loose 5 more pounds until pre pregnancy weight.. well thats not me. I had a 6 pound baby, and have way more then 5 pounds too loose.

On sunday I will be writing a very REAL post about my weight, and post preggo body.. which honestly I am not horribly ashamed of, of course I wouldn't be on a runway in a bikini but then again I did just have a baby 5 weeks ago, and I think I look pretty good for that.

I am back into all regular clothes.. no maternity. they are not my pre preggo clothes, they are the bigger clothes I wore before my dramatic weight loss last year.

I will post my weekly updates just like I did if you followed my old blog when i was working on loosing weight the last time around. Im sure it will take longer this time since I have a baby, I wont be able to LIVE in the gym, running 8-10 miles every other day, but I will work on it.

But thats your daddy

My poor husband. My sweet girl does not like to be held by him at all, not sure why. He was home for the first 3 weeks and held her all the time she would sleep in his chest alot. then he went back to work, which is night shift and so he sleeps during the day and is up with us between 4-10pm. Now as soon as I give her to him, she just starts screaming, and cannot be calmed down. I can see that its breaking his heart.

the only time he can hold her now is when she is already asleep. I know his misses his daddy baby time with her, hopefully this phase ends soon

Fussy

Fussy doesn't even do it justice.. I have a baby with reflux!!!!!!!! It's been the most difficult thing to deal with, the lack of sleep has even been easier to cope with then this. Basically this is how it goes... baby cries because she is hungry so I feed her as soon as she is done she has to stay upright for 30 minutes then she cries HARD.. the kind of cry like when they get shots. She will continue to cry for about 25 minutes because the acid is coming up and burning her throat. It has actually gotten so bad she has vomitted blood... and let me tell you for a first time mom, that is a very scary sight at 2 in the morning.

We have tried zantac, and prevacid however her tummy doesn't tolorate them and she vomits them up. We use mylicon drops, gripe water, and now gaviscon. We bounce her, sing to her, rock her.. but nothing really stops the crying.

There is no worse feeling in the world then to know your child is in pain and you cannot do anything for them.

What makes it worse...... is thats not the only problem we are dealing with... she also has all of the symptoms of overproduction.. .... You see the milk factory sometimes goes into overload, and makes to much resulting in a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance so my baby girl only gets the water fat free milk and not the fattening milk wich just loads her intestines up with lactose resulting in alot of gas, explosive green stools, a very fussy baby, she screams while she is eating sometimes.

I want to be there for EVERY minutes of my baby girls life however sometimes I just wish I could fast forward to the 3 month mark (the pedi says it will be better then) because I know my baby wont be in pain anymore.

1 month

1 MONTH

Emmaline, you are one month old today! You are growing in so many ways I can't even believe it. You are awake alot more now, you are holding your head very well, and starting to coo. You defiantly do NOT like wearing a dirty diaper, and you let everyone know it.

Right now you are dealing with some tummy issues, so you are a bit fussy. It makes Mama sad to see you in pain. Everynight your dad and I pray that Jesus will heal your tummy and help you to grow strong.

You eat every two hours during the day, and at night between 3-5 hours, however it's usually more of the 3 and less of the 5.

You already have your Daddy wrapped around your finger, however he gets sad that he can't comfort you the way mommy does.

You love your swing, and all things black and white.. icluding your favorite thing to gaze at... the ceiling fan.. you will look at it for 20 minutes straigt.

You are now 9.13 pounds, and 20 3/4 inches long

75th percentile for weight, 50th for height, and 25th for your little head...

However,

all that good milk has caused you to have not just a double chin.. but sometimes there are three little rolls under there.

We love you so much and couldn't imagine life without you. We are so excited to watch you grow, and all the exciting things you will get to experience.
